6.6.18 Reporting no Sales or Usages

may be that a company wishes to send a sales/usage report to a Licensor Such a report shall comprise of four parts:

  • One Header Record (HEAD) in accordance with Part 8 of this standard;

  • One or more summary records in accordance with the  relevant Profile. The number of summary records would depend on the contractual relationship between Licensor and licensee (see below).

  • No Record to describe Usages, Revenues or Sales; and

  • One Footer Record (FOOT) in accordance with Part 8 of this standard.

If the "empty" sales/usage report is the first report ever sent from licensee to Licensor, it is recommended that one summary record is provided for each sales/usage context that the licensee is licensed for by the Licensor. Licensee and Licensor may, however, agree a different approach.

For an "empty" sales/usage report following a non-"empty" sales/usage report, it is recommended to provide a summary record for each of the contexts provided in the preceding sales/usage report. Licensee and Licensor may, however, agree a different approach.
