6.1 Introduction
This clause defines the principles of the structure of the standard Sales/Usage Reports defined in the profiles defined in parts of the Digital Sales Reporting Message Suite.
At the time of publication, the profiles defined by DDEX in the DSR standard are as follows:
Part 3: Basic Audio Profile
Part 4: UGC Profile
Part 5: Audio-visual Profile
Part 6: Royalty Reporting Profile
Part 7: Broadcast Reporting Profile
Part 9: Financial Reporting to Record Companies Profile
Part 10: Masterlist Profile
Part 11: Basic Audio Profile for The Mechanical Licensing Collective
Within each profile, a table defines which Records to use for that profile and a cardinality that stipulates how many times a Record may be used. That table also indicates, through indentation, if a Record is providing data relevant to another Record. An example of this is shown in the table below (although it does not represent a complete Sales/Usage Report):
Record Type | Cardinality |
---|---|
| 1 |
| 1-n |
| 0-n |
| 1-n |
Table 2 – Example of the structure of Records in different profiles
This example table indicates that a profile has to contain one RE01
Record. All Records in the DSR standard are defined in Part 8 of the DSR standard along with their identifies. Each RE01
Record, in the example, shall be followed by one or more AS01
Records which provide data about resources that are part of the release described in the RE01
Record. There then has to be one or more SU01
Records which provides sales and/or usage data for the Release described in the RE01
Record. In addition, each of the AS01
Records may be followed by a number of MW01
Records providing data about the musical work(s) embodied in that resource (usually a sound recording). In the above example the AS01
and SU01
Records provide data about the release described in the RE01
Record and the MW01
Record provides additional data in relation to the AS01
Record.
The indentation shown in Table 2 is for illustration purposes only.
