6.4 Multi-file Sales/Usage Reports
For technical reasons it may be necessary to split a Sales/Usage Report into several files. In such circumstances:
All files shall start with a
HEADRecord as defined in the relevant profile of the DSR standard. Some data in some of the Cells in theHEADRecord will vary between the various files;
All files shall have the same set of summary Records containing summary data for the entire multi-file Sales/Usage Report. For the avoidance of doubt, the sets of summary Records in the various files shall all contain the same data;
All files shall have one or more Blocks as described in Clause 6.3;
All files shall end with a
FOOTRecord as defined in the relevant profile of the DSR standard. Some data in some of the Cells in theFOOTRecord will vary between the various files; and
Blocks may not be split between files and may not be repeated in different files of the same Sales/Usage Report.
The last file can be determined in the HEAD and FOOT header and FOOT Records by comparing the FileNumber and NumberOfFiles Cells (or equivalent Cells in other HEAD Records).
This structure is shown in the diagram below. The indentation and spacing is for illustration purposes only.
